Highlyn
View Cottage is located on the Points East Coastal Drive where you will
find things to do, places to see and to eat.
Our cottages and
guest
house
are only minutes away from the very popular Eagles View
9-hole
golf
course,
a
very challenging
course.
Take a nice walk to the harbour and craft shops that Murray River
offers or try some island
cuisine and top it off with a great ice cream cone. The islands
Confederation Trail is close by where you can take a walk
or
bike ride through the country side. Beaches are only minutes away
if you are a swimmer or just like to relax and listen to the wonderful
relaxing sound of the water or gaze out and watch the fishing boats
and sail boats traveling along our island water ways.
If
you are interested in seeing the island from the air then you're
in luck "Tartan
Air" is located at the harbour as is the seal cruise where
they guarantee you'll see seals. Not just an odd one but a lot
of adult and baby's depending on the time of year.
If you are lucky enough to stay in PEI during the lobster season
then drop down to the wharf and talk to the local fishermen who
will supply
you with some fresh lobsters that you can take back to the cottages
and cook for a delightful island treat.
If Lighthouses are your interest then you have 4 in the area that
you can visit and learn about
the guards who watch over our fishermen. At the Wood Islands Lighthouse
you
can learn all about the "Rum
Running" of the island; Cape Bear is where
the first Canadian distress signal came in from the "Titanic"; Panmure
Island is located on the cliffs of one of our favorite beaches;
Point Prim
is the only round lighthouse on the island and only steps away
is a great little restaurant which boosts island cuisine from
the shores.
